dream Player TV for TVHeadend

Prerequisites

The app requires a TVheadend Server with current software (version 4.2 or higher). This can be a PC or Raspberry Pi with TV tuner. There are also receivers with OpenELEC that can be used. This app is built to run on an Android TV device or Amazon Fire TV device. If you are using a phone or tablet, please use the app dream Player for TVheadend.

Import settings

If you exported your configuration before on this device, you can choose 'Import settings'. After import, please continue the wizard.
If you are using the app dream Player for TVheadend on a phone or tablet, you can use the option 'Use companion app' to import your settings.

Start installation

Click 'Next' to start the setup wizard.

Connection

In this step, access to your TVheadend server webinterface is configured. Please try to open the webinterface in a webbrowser before using the app. Please make sure the TVheadend server and Android TV are in the same network.

When opening this page all availabe TVheadend servers in the network are automatically detected and you can select it. Else click on server and enter the local IPv4 IP address of the receiver.
In your local network you should use port 9981 and disable https. If your TVheadend server requires authentication, please enable 'Use login'.

If you have activated the option "Digest" for Authentication Type in the Configuration - General - Base - HTTP Server Settings area, activate either Plain or Digest and Plain. Otherwise the setup will work, but streaming will not.

Also please make sure you assigned channels to tags because the app uses tags to group channels. See TVheadend help.

Click 'Next' to test the your credentials and continue the setup process

Streaming

Please use default settings. Port 9981 should be used for streaming. HTTPS should be disabled. Use login should be enabled if your server requires authentication. If you have activated the option "Digest" for Authentication Type in the Configuration - General - Base - HTTP Server Settings area, activate either Plain or Digest and Plain. Otherwise the setup will work, but streaming will not.

Channel tags

Please select channel tags to use in the app. You need at least one channel tag which contains your channels. See TVheadend help. The order of the channels is done based on the channel number. The order of the channel tag based on the Sort Index column.

Next

Click 'Next' to finish setup wizard.

Picons

You can display channel logos (picons). If you enable download option (default) the channel logos are automatically downloaded. If you want to use the picons from your server, enable 'Use picons from TVHeadend server'
